Run Beats Audio on Ubuntu for Hp Envy Series Laptop : Raj Karan

In your running life sound is that key ingredient which plays the nontrivial role to execute the daily task. The sound is the factor originated from device travels through medium and lands at the destination  (safely).

OK back to blogpost,  If you are newbie to UBUNTU (linux) and facing sound issues, then you will definitely switch back to windows especially when your device equipped with charismatic sound powered by Beats Audio. In my case I have seen many solutions on web and believe me solution is there, but in chunks . So I have decided to bag them and put them at one place, so that in future you will not face any issues regarding sound.

This blog post is for ENVYENVY users.

Run following commands in terminal step by step:

1) sudo apt-add-repository ppa:diwic/hda

2) sudo apt-get update

3) sudo apt-get install alsa-tools-gui

4) hdajackretask

5)  Select the IDT 92HD91BXX codec (may be different on other models)

6) Check the "Show unconnected pins" box (the internal speakers do not show as connected)

7) Remap 0x0d (Internal Speaker, Front side) to "Internal speaker"

8) Remap 0x0f ("Not connected" but is the under-display speakers) to "Internal speaker"

9) Remap 0x10 ("Not connected" but is the subwoofer) to "Internal speaker (LFE)"

10) Apply now, then test with your favorite audio program (some may not work due to Pulse reset, so find one that does, verify sound is coming from all speakers).

11) If it works, select "Install boot override" to save the settings to apply at boot time.

12)  Reboot. When it comes back, you should have full sound from all speakers. Also test headphones. Plugging in headphones should disable sound from all internal speakers.
