EA has finally come forward to announce the next game in the Need For Speed series: it’s going to be called The Run and it will be something different as the company is taking NFS to a whole new level in racing games.
If until now the Need For Speed games were only based on sports, The Run is also going to be an action game as users will have to get deeper into the dangerous world of underground, get through heavy traffic, get through some mountains, from San Francisco all the way to New York.
EA looks very excited to introduce this game and we’re pleased to see that Need For Speed The Run will be a different game in the franchise. The main power of The Run is its background-story, however, the cool races are not going to miss and you’re going to have to get through a series of challenges as well as outrunning your intelligent and talented opponents cruising at more than 250km/h.
According to EA, Need For Speed The Run is based on the Frostbite 2 game engine developed by DICE, the very same engine which stand behind Battlefield 3. Judging by the way Battlefield 3 looks, I’d say that NFS The Run will be best looking racing game ever developed.
The Need For Speed: The Run release date is November 15th in the US, while the Europeans will get it two days later, respectively three days later for the United Kingdom. This game is going to become available for PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo 3DS, and the Nintendo Wii.
The price of the game hasn’t been disclosed, but I don’t think it’s going to cost you more than $50-$60 at a store near your, online retailers, or at Steam.
